Former NSYNC band member Lance Bass has put a song in the hearts of dog devotees by shining a spotlight on the need to help companion animals without forever families say “Bye Bye Bye” to life at the shelter.
The host of the Sirius XM radio program Dirty Pop and his husband Michael Turchin introduce viewers to the rescue dogs who take center stage in their home and explain the dire need to adopt in two videos made in partnership with The Shelter Pet Project.
“Michael and I are so happy to be a part of this campaign and to be able to share the love that we have for our adopted dogs Lily, Foster and Dingo,” Bass stated. “They are a huge part of our life– they were even in our wedding! I urge everyone looking for a new pet to adopt. The joy is unimaginable. Our shelter dogs are the most loyal, wonderful companions imaginable, and we are so lucky to share our lives with them.”
The videos are the latest in a series filmed by famous friends of Fidos and felines for the national campaign, which was developed by The Ad Council, The Humane Society of The United States and Maddie’s Fund in order to celebrate the bond between pet parents and their four-pawed pals and encourage future pet guardians to choose the option of adoption. Other stars who have shown support for the paws cause include actress Bellamy Young from the hit ABC series Scandal, Torrey DeVitto from The CW series The Vampire Diaries, The Late Show with David Letterman‘s sidekick Paul Shaffer, and beloved Disney characters Cinderella, Tiana, Belle and Ariel.
