Her Page Six column never fails to make the tongues of gossip hounds wag, but on December 7, 2014 entertainment journalist Cindy Adams will make tails wag at the sixth annual Blessing of the Animals.
Adams, who over the years has penned two tomes (The Gift of Jazzy and Living a Dog’s Life: Jazzy, Juicy and Me) about her beloved canine companions, has announced that she will once again act as hostess of a non-denominational service in celebration of all creatures great and small.
Taking place at Christ Church in New York City, the free event will feature music by the Uniondale High School Show Choir, a procession of police dogs, adorable adoptables from Best Friends Animal Society and farm animals from Farm to You Revue, and blessings performed by the house of worship’s Senior Minister Stephen Bauman, Senior Rabbi Peter Rubenstein and His Eminence Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
Made possible by Baker Institute for Animal Health, Best Friends Animal Society, Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine and The New York Post, the blessing is a happening with a lot of heart, with attendees invited to donate new pet toys at the event which will be distributed to dogs and cats at New York City Animal Care and Control who are hoping that their holiday wish to find a forever pet parent comes true.
Note: No reservations are required, but all human attendees must be accompanied by an animal.
