Always ready to offer an assist to dogs in need, St. Louis Blues team captain/Athletes for Animals co-founder David Backes recently helped to take a bite out of the problem of animal abuse by taking the Dog Treat Challenge.
Dog devotees can also help the paws cause– which was launched by Stray Rescue of St. Louis founder Randy Grimm– by chomping down on a dog treat on camera, posting footage of the doggie delicacy dining experience via social media with the hashtag #SRDogTreatChallenge, then making a $10 donation to Stray Rescue of St. Louis’s Sidney Strum Animal Abuse Fund. After nomming on the nibble, the participant can also nominate a friend to take on the challenge, choosing either to eat a dog treat and donate $10 to the fund, or skip sampling a dog treat and make a $100 donation instead.
David Backes recorded his dog treat tasting at Treats Unleashed, which is currently offering a complimentary dog treat for anyone who wants to take the challenge at any of the store’s locations.
