Chicago Blackhawks Stars Raise Funds with Pitas for Pits

BickellFoodies, ice hockey fans and friends of Fidos are invited to join two NHL stars as they roll ‘Pitas for Pits.’

The Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford will offer an assist to teammate Bryan Bickell at the Chicago branch of the healthy fast food restaurant Pita Pit as the left wing raises funds for The Bryan & Amanda Bickell Foundation, which helps kids in need through the kindness of canines who are so often unfairly hounded by people’s prejudice. (Note: Sports fans can also help the paws cause at the event by taking part in a raffle, which will include a hockey stick autographed by Bickell.)

Founded by the Pittie-loving ice hockey player and his wife (who together are proud pet parents to two dogs, including a Pit Bull), The Bryan & Amanda Bickell Foundation promotes a positive image of Pit Bulls; shines a spotlight on adoptable dogs through Bick’s Pits and pairs therapy Pit Bulls who have triumphed after suffering the miseries of mistreatment with children who have also been victims of abuse to help heal their hearts through the Paws for Strength program. Soon the foundation will also make an effort to end bullying with the help of bully-type dogs through the Bullies Against Bullying program.

When: March 7, 2014 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Where: Pita Pit Lincoln Park at 2404 North Lincoln Avenue in Chicago
