Mark Poulin Dog Necklaces at Uncommon Goods

Not long after we adopted Irie, John surprised me with a super cute dog necklace that, six years later, I still wear all the time. He selected it because it was a fun little necklace that, unlike so many lines of dog jewelry, wasn’t breed-specific (which is pretty tough for us mixed breed dog lovers!) Instead, it was just a happy little necklace of a cartoon dog with floppy ears, just like our Irie.

I wore it to the very first BlogPaws where I was speaking about monetizing your blog:

I wore it this past fall when I went to have some professional photos taken with Tiki:

…but, even so, I didn’t know much about the necklace other than the fact that it was super cute!

But just recently I was contacted by Uncommon Goods, a company with a huge array of unique gifts for Valentine’s Day as well as these under $50 gifts, about doing a review of some of their products for pet lovers. I looked through the list and, lo and behold, there was my necklace!

Designed by artist Mark Poulin and handmade in Oakland, California, the necklace is the dog that jumped over the moon. AND, I found out, Uncommon Goods also carries a matching CAT necklace of Tom-Tom, the tough little boy cat! Both sterling silver necklaces are sold with a nylon-coated stainless steel cord with sterling silver clasp.

Be sure to check out Uncommon Goods for their other great presents for pet lovers and anyone on your Valentine’s list. We love that about one-third of their entire collection incorporates recycled and/or upcycled materials and about half of all the products they carry are handmade, many, like these necklaces, in the USA. We also love that with every purchase you make, Uncommon Goods will donate $1 to the non-profit of your choice. Since they started the Better to Give program 12 years ago, they’ve donated over $700,000 to charities around the world!
