Arizona Diamondbacks Pitcher Trevor Cahill Visits Foothills Animal Rescue

Bb8jXQfCAAA1wGZPitching the option of pet adoption, Trevor Cahill of the Arizona Diamondbacks recently stepped up to the plate to help homeless animals by paying a visit to Foothills Animal Rescue.

Cahill and his wife Jessica– who have two French Bulldogs named Stella and Elston in their fur family– were happy to highlight some of the non-profit’s organization’s adoptable cats and dogs (like Frosty, a one-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix seen with Cahill) who are hoping to ‘play ball’ someday with a forever pet parent.

Trevor Cahill is just one of the many sports stars who have teamed up with Athletes for Animals to educate the public about proper pet guardianship, raise funds to support the ongoing efforts of organizations which help pets in need, and promote pet adoption. Created by St. Louis Blues captain David Backes and his wife Kelly, Athletes for Animals– which was officially launched in November 2013– includes the following players in its pack:

Barret Jackman of the St. Louis Blues
David Perron of the Edmonton Oilers
Erik Johnson of the Colorado Avalanche
James Laurinaitis of the St. Louis Rams
Kyle McClellan of the Texas Rangers
Mark Buehrle of the Toronto Blue Jays
Trevor Cahill of the Arizona Diamondbacks

Established in 1995, in 2013 Foothills Animal Rescue found forever homes for more than 500 companion animals.
