Emmylou Harris Promotes Pet Community Center Campaign

Screen Shot 2013-11-30 at 11.42.24 AMTwelve-time Grammy Award winner (and Bonaparte’s Retreat Dog Rescue founder) Emmylou Harris, who has been on the road promoting her most recent album Old Yellow Moon, has stepped in front of the camera to film a PSA for a non-profit which is on the road to creating a brighter tomorrow for Tennessee’s homeless pets.

Established in 2011, Pet Community Center enriches the friendship between families and their four-legged friends through education and training, and strives to save the lives of homeless and abandoned companion animals in middle Tennessee through spaying and neutering.

According to the Pet Community Center website, 76 percent of Nashville’s homeless dogs and cats who found themselves impounded last year met their fate in the city’s shelters. Endeavoring to reduce the staggering statistic, the organization has been accepted into the Humane Alliance mentoring program for spay and neuter clinics. Building a Pet Community Center spay/neuter clinic can help Nashville reach the goal of an 80 – 90 percent save rate. To help turn that dream from reverie into reality:
