As you know, John and I lead a very quiet life here in our very rural setting. Surrounded by a nature preserve, our humble life consists of time usually divided between work at the computers and dog walks on a dirt road.
But last week we veered off our usual path and got to enjoy a few days in New York City! Along with other Nutrish bloggers, we headed to the Big Apple for two nights to attend a taping of the Rachael Ray Show! Although during our many years as travel writers we visited New York City several times (although sometimes just to change planes…or to overnight after a missed flight), we had never attended a show taping!
We flew in on a day that was lightly snowing (a far cry from the 80-degree days we left); we hopped a cab from JFK to the Fashion District. Of course, we had to bring along our Texas with Dogs luggage and pose it!
The hotel was especially convenient because we were just a short walk from the studio where the Rachael Ray Show is shot:
We had tickets for the show:
After a short wait, we were escorted in where, after a walk through security and the metal detector, we waited in a large room with the other visitors:
From there, we were escorted into the studio (where we couldn’t take photos…so you’ll just have to watch the show!) Our taping included segments that will be aired Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22. John and I are in the same seats for both shows…so watch for me in a DogTipper blue sweater 🙂
Tomorrow we’ll bring you more photos from our New York adventure!
