Review: Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3

I’ve got a confession to make. The carpet in my office is almost 20 years old. And it has never really, truly been cleaned. I recently had the chance to review the Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3 deep cleaning carpet cleaning machine and wanted to share our results.

Sure, I’ve vacuumed it inside out and I’ve spot cleaned almost every inch of it…but I’ve never given it a really good deep cleaning.

Last month I went up to the Rug Doctor factory near St. Louis, Missouri and learned that you should deep clean your carpets twice a year (!) but in all those years I never went down to our local grocery store and rented one of the Rug Doctor machines to really do it right.

This week, though, I had the chance to do a thorough, deep cleaning of my office using the Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3, the retail machine. It’s just like the ones you rent in the stores except for its color and the fact that it doesn’t have a counter inside to clock the number of hours it has been used.

I used the Anti-Allergen formula for this cleaning; this new formula encapsulates and traps pet dander and other allergens that lie in the carpet, a feature that’s especially important to me because of my asthma.

I’ll share more about the new formula (as well as the upholstery tool) in a future post but for today I wanted to show you my first time to use the Rug Doctor in my office in the video above. The amount of dirt that came out was amazing (and, well, gross)…

And the result, even on my office’s old carpet, was amazing! Whether you’re interested in renting a Rug Doctor at a local store or purchasing a unit, we give the Rug Doctor a big paws up!
