Dear Alecia,
My dog is completely terrified of everything and everyone (even afraid of me at times) and rarely listens to me. I would like some help and advice please.–Amber
Dear Amber,
Poor pup! In a case like this I would recommend Bach Flower Essences as often times a terrified dog has experienced an emotional trauma which may be stuck in his central nervous systsem that the essences can clear and then you can start training and making breakthroughs.
The essences were developed by Dr. Edward Bach in the 1900s in the English countryside. They work by gently releasing the subtle emotional energy patterns that get stuck in the body. They work great with animals. The essences come in dropper bottles and you place drops in the dogs water; it’s as easy as that. They are non-toxic and work exceptionally well with dogs.
Start with Rock Rose; this essence assists in releasing old traumas ( use 10 drops 2 times a day for 18 days). Add in Rescue Remedy for easing stress (15 drops 2x day 4 days). Then add Rock Water (18 drops for 9 days) for flexibility in personality and an easier time being in the present moment. Lastly I suggest you add Cerato (14 drops for 17 days)- to assist your dog in regaining his/her confidence.
In addition, due to your dogs sentive nature I would recommend two additional products: 1. Thundershirt- this product will assist you in calming your dogs central nervous system and allow your dog to hear you better as your dog will feel safer. 2. Walk In Sync(tm) Humane Dog Walking and Training System for walks. This will give your dog a better sense of body awareness and allow him/her to move through the stress and be more focused and centered. Watch the videos to learn the 3 easy steps and your dog should be feeling safer, less afraid and more open to live in days.
Paws Up!
