Ribbie or Ribeye: Lingo for a RBI (run batted in).
Slurve: A curve ball thrown by the pitcher as a slider.
Snowman: When a team scores eight runs in an inning.
Southpaw: A left-handed pitcher.
Submarine: Sometimes called an upside down release, a submarine in a pitching method by which the ball is released below pitcher’s waist.
Tater: Slang terminology for a home run.
Wheelhouse: The most advantageous area in a hitter’s strike zone.
Yak or Yakker: A curve ball.
Yicketty: According to Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Chipper Jones, yicketty means a homer.
