365: Preparing Our Kitchen for Cookbook Work!

cabinet2

This weekend we’re rolling up our sleeves and getting to work on our next book, The Healthy Hound Cookbook! First, though, I had to get the kitchen in order. It was one of those one-thing-leads-to-another kind of projects that began, innocently enough as so many of these projects do, with just a simple cleaning of the kitchen.

But, before I knew it, we were taking the doors off the upper cabinets and painting the kitchen (formerly light green) a bright, glossy white.

It all started with the above cabinet, one of two in the kitchen. (It is a very small kitchen, to put it mildly.) I wanted to put all the baking supplies for the cookbook in one place.

That led to the purchase of Mason jars. Which led to the purchase of Martha Stewart blackboard labels…and then painting the kitchen…

Somewhere along the way, I also went to the thrift store and bought this neat cookie jar with a blackboard front:

It’s going to be a busy weekend!
