104*365: My Phone’s Camera

Today I received an email from a reader asking about my cellphone and its camera. I was just about to email her back…then realized that I’d share the information with everyone!

I have a Blackberry Torch 9800. John and I have had Blackberries for a while but we switched to the Torch just about a year ago specifically because we both wanted cameras in our phones.

We did some research before making the switch to the new models and selected the Torch because, of all the phone models we researched, its camera was the highest rated. The camera also shoots video which is helpful. The size is nice; I’m able to put it in my back pocket so it’s always with me on my dog walks. I’m able to take photos such as this shot of Irie and our waterfall on tonight’s walk.

In all, I love the camera but it does have some drawbacks. It is a little tough for me to hold and depress the virtual shutter. There is a lag time between the time I press the shutter and the time the photo takes.

And, finally, there’s no Instagram for Blackberry! I’d really love to be able to use Instagram (I use Instaphoto but it’s not the same.)

So that’s my opinion of the Blackberry Torch. What’s your cameraphone? Do you like it and would you recommend it?
