Scandal Star Bellamy Young Promotes The Shelter Pet Project

Young
An actress who plays a political animal on the hit ABC series Scandal recently stepped in front of a camera for the sake of companion animals who need forever homes.

A proud pet parent to an adopted dog and cat, actress Bellamy Young– who portrays First Lady Mellie Grant in the popular drama– is helping to shine a spotlight on the 2.4 million healthy and treatable dogs and cats in the U.S. shelter system who each year are not adopted, and need help finding loving families.

Bellamy Young is the latest animal-loving luminary to partner with The Humane Society of the United States, Maddie’s Fund and The Ad Council for The Shelter Pet Project, which encourages potential pet parents to choose the option of adoption by visiting shelters and rescue organizations when looking for a pet. Other famous friends of Fidos and felines who have appeared in a “Meet My Shelter Pet” video include Torrey De Vitto from The Vampire Diaries with her barking buddy, Beau, and David Letterman’s comedic cohort Paul Shaffer, with his daughter Victoria and their pack of four-pawed pals, Echo, Jake, Riley and Rue.
